The
McLean Project for the Arts announces a call for entries
for "Strictly Painting 4". This juried exhibition is open to
professional and graduate level painters. Exhibition dates are
June 5 - July 19, 2003. Submission deadline is March 3. Jurors
are Sarah Finlay of Fusebox Gallery in Washington, D.C. and
Deborah McLeod, Director of Exhibitions at MPA. Prospectus can

Conner Contemporary Art is pleased to announce Academy
2002, an exhibition of works by students and recent graduates
of academic art programs in the Washington-Baltimore area. The
exhibition, curated by art history professor Jamie L. Smith,
marks the second year of this annual invitational which
celebrates the rich tradition of academic art in our region.
The artists, who hale from American University, Catholic
University, The Corcoran College of Art + Design, George
Washington University, Georgetown University, Howard
University, Maryland Institute College of Art + Design and The
University of Maryland, College Park are: Chul Hyun Ahn,
Haelim Allen, Dave Beers, Nina Chung Dwyer, Earl Gadberry,
Karin Horlbeck, Ju Yeon Kang, Jenny Lescure, Jared Miller,
Rachael Dolezal Moore, Sarah Oldenburg, Paul Reuther, Youngmi
Song, Julie Stovall, Andrea Tese and Holly White. Media
include painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and video.
The exhibition opens Friday, August 2nd with a reception for
the artist's from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Conner Contemporary Art is
