The historic former Lorton Prison, now the Workhouse Arts Center, has established its credentials as a cultural mecca with 100 working studio artists, 40 separate art exhibitions, more than 130 classes and workshops by nationally and internationally known artists, music, live theater, film series, and celebrity performances.

As the Workhouse begins Phase II "adaptive reuse" construction of the event center and performing arts theatre, there will be even more exciting ways for the public to escape to arts and entertainment.
