Maxine R. Cable
A Continuum Of Stupas - 2009

Gallery 10 Ltd. presents Continuum, an exhibit of work by Maxine R. Cable. These new multi-media installations and assemblages are a continuation of work she has created over a long and prolific career. In her work, Maxine Cable examines profound issues such as our warlike nature, peace, the veracity of world religions, the nuclear threat, feminism, suffering, rebirth and impermanence. She has integrated deeply felt references to Buddhism with an intutive and sensitive depiction of the world of objects as metaphors for spiritual experience, incorporating ancient religious beliefs and rituals into an art form, and has thereby articulated a rare expression of an ancient and living tradition.

Her work has been exhibited throughout the United States; and in Bejing and Moscow. In Italy, Cable's work has been shown at Riva Sinestra Arte; FYR Gallery, Firenze; Assioma Gallery, Prato; Galleria Venezia, Venice. She has taken part in the Art in Embassies Program, with work displayed at the US Embassy, 2007, in Rangoon.
