Contemporary impressionist Nancy Tankersley is featured in a dual show in May with Californian Scott Prior at the South Street Art Gallery in Easton. The show, Urban Life and Everyday People, runs from May 1- June 1.

Need Chilies Fast by Tankersley, who continues her artistic walk initially begun with portraiture. Her range of subjects includes still life and the landscape, with a current focus on integrating the figure into the landscape and local genre paintings. Compelling scenes--perhaps overlooked by the casual observer--become important and are confirmed on canvas via the emotional response felt by the artist. Tankersley credits her move into plein air painting with her being able to quickly capture the essence of mood, light and color in a scene, preserving the emotion and energy of the moment.

Tankersley’s work is exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the nation.
