Stevenson University serves as an off-festival site for the citywide annual juried exhibition, part of the largest free public arts festival in the country. This year’s exhibition features paintings by David Brown, an installation of works on paper by Luis Flores and video by Joe Rubino. David Brown uses patterns of miniature eye motifs to create minimalist yet monumental work. His paintings and works on paper are forceful; color and shape draw the viewer to inspect beautifully patterned mesmerizing surfaces offering contemplative study. The work of Luis Flores embodies powerful and poetic imagery and incorporates printmaking, assemblage and sculpture. The well-known Baltimore photographer premieres the ponderous and engaging video, Water Boxes. Online at: www.stevenson.edu.
