We challenged gallery artists to use their collective “seeing eyes” to select humble subjects to paint; the results make something lovely out of what is ordinary. July 4 – July 30: Gallery Artists Juried into Plein Air- Easton! 2008. We present works by eight artists juried into this year’s Plein Air-Easton! Festival. They are: Robert J. Barber, Tim Bell, Ed Cooper, Bethanne Kinsella Cople, Tracey Frugoli, Robert Lewis, Larry Moore and Nancy Tankersley. “California Colorist,” Camille Przewodek, presents a two-week exhibit of her work during July while she conducts two workshops (July 28-Aug 1 & Aug 4-8). Aug 1 – Sept 3: Plein Air-Easton! 2008 Works by gallery artists. The paint may not be quite dry on these new works by S.S.A.G. artists who competed in this year’s Plein Air-Easton! Mon-Sat. 10-5:30 pm, Sun by appt: June 6-July 8: Kevin Fitzgerald is a nationally recognized tonalist whose dedicated collectors span the globe. His evocative landscapes and moody seascapes have been described as “compelling, daunting, peaceable, and complicated.” June 16-June 20: Outdoor Painting Workshop with Kenn Backhaus: Freezing that Moment of Light: Exploring the Foundations of PleinAir. Students will develop knowledge and skills through a better understanding and awareness of how to approach the ever-fleeting moment of light. July 11-Aug. 20: Raoul Middleman. Middleman is a nationally known artist and teacher notorious for his expressive landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes, still lives, and murals. His bravura narrative paintings have been described as being “as boisterous as opera bouffe.” Middleman’s paintings can be found in private and corporate collections, such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art; National Gallery of Art; Baltimore Museum of Art; Corcoran Gallery of Art; National Academy of Design; Johns Hopkins Hospital; New York Public Library; and Syracuse University.
